AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION

Life expectancy of persons with developmental disabilities (cerebral palsy, vegetative state), and those who have suffered spinal cord or traumatic brain injuries. General population life expectancy calculations.

EXPERIENCE

Dr. Shavelle is currently a Researcher in the Department of Statistics at the University of California, Riverside. He has done significant research on the subject of life expectancy of children and adults with cerebral palsy, persons in vegetative states and with those who have suffered spinal cord or traumatic brain injuries. In addition, he has published extensively on the topic of life expectancy and has provided expert witness testimony in Canada, Australia and the United States.
