EXPERIENCE

Mr. Thompson has provided vocational services to people with disabilities and displaced workers since 1987. He has testified as a vocational expert in over 1,500 Social Security cases, and has been called as a vocational expert and social security disability expert in workers’ compensation cases. In addition to his work in social security disability and workers’ compensation, he has been retained by both plaintiff and defense counsel to provide vocational opinions on personal injury, long-term disability, divorce, medical malpractice, and employment litigation cases. The thrust of his work in that regard has been determining the vocational options, earning potential, and loss of earnings for people who have sustained injuries or who have catastrophic disabilities. On the clinical side, Mr. Thompson provides his clients with vocational opinions, vocational assessments, transferable skills analyses, labor market surveys, loss of earning capacity reports, job readiness training, and placement services. Mr. Thompson collaborates with economists, psychologists, and life care planners to offer his clients a comprehensive package of services that expedites case closure, saves customers money, and meets tight deadlines. In 2004, Mr. Thompson expanded his services to include bilingual case management services, functional capacity evaluations, impairment ratings, and expert medical opinions. His medical experts are commonly hired to perform second opinions, IME's, and peer reviews that address causality and functional outcomes.
